Beginning Sewing Class, Wednesdays at 3:30
Wednesday, 3:30pm - 5:30pm
September 25 - October 16
Do you have a crafty kid on your hands? Someone who loves asking how something is made - or better yet, trying to figure out how they can take it apart? This intro class will cover everything from how to thread a machine to constructing basic 3D projects. We cover the same things that the adults do in their intro class, but catered to a younger audience to inspire instead of overwhelm.
This class will cover the basics of sewing and students will walk away with the following projects:
- Tote Bag
- Decorative Pillow / Stuffed Animal
- Pajama Bottoms
- Basic Hand Sewing Skills
- Machine Sewing Skills
- Beginning Clothing Construction Techniques
Isn't learning fun!?
Tools (scissors, cutting mat, needles, seam rippers, sewing machines) will be available for use in the shop though supplies are limited, so you are welcome to bring your own as well.
Students Must Provide
- 1 yard of a fabric of their choosing for pajama bottoms (cotton, flannel, similar fabric)
- OPTIONAL 1 yard of fabric of their choosing for the tote bag (cotton, flannel, similar fabric)
I will provide a raw cotton for those any other project / students who are unable to make it to the fabric store :)
